VietNamNet Bridge – Visitors to Dalat in November when cold weather begins to pervade the hilly resort town often choose to stroll in the bustling night market, taste delicious grilled corn, take a cup of hot soya milk or buy some souvenirs for family and friends.

From November onwards, temperatures fall to 14-15 Celsius, which is really chilling for people in a tropical country like Vietnam. Visitors prefer staying in the downtown area near the market to conveniently shuttle between places of interest. On top of that, it is well worth taking a walk to Dalat’s night market in the oft-foggy city.
The night market gets more hectic with hundreds of traders busily setting up their stalls from Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street to the area of Hoa Binh.
What is the most interesting about the night market is a wide variety of commodities on offer. A lot of small street food stalls sell grilled girdle-cakes with all the trimmings, boiled corn with a good smell lingering in the air, appealing grilled eggs and seafood. These dishes are always served hot, partly dispelling a cold feeling.
This place is also described as a mini-world full of colors. It is not too difficult to spot some small stores selling various products made of yarn such as key chains, animal toys, bracelets, scarves, hats, and flamboyant and lovely dolls. Female traders swiftly do the knitting while offering to sell their products to customers at the same time. There are also some shops selling beautiful flowers arranged on tiny heart-shaped baskets.
November in Dalat City is the right time of crisp and sweet persimmons. Each kilogram of this fruit is worth around VND10,000. Certain ripe persimmons are sold at higher prices. Take a bite and the sweetness will be unleashed in your mouth.
If visitors feel tired of the long walk, they can stop by some street vendors close to the romantic Xuan Huong Lake to drink hot soya milk, eat grilled corn with greasy chopped spring onion or grilled sweet potatoes with a mouth-watering aroma, which can make tourists feel warmer in the chilling night.
The Dalat night market is absolutely a must-see destination for anyone visiting the Central Highlands city to get a feel of the bustling and hustling daily lives of locals.
