Thuy Tien Lake Water Park in Huong Thuy town, Hue does not appear in the tourist map of Vietnam, but it has recently been mentioned in the Dailymail, Lonelyplanet, social networks such as Instagram and blogs of foreign travellers.

Instagram account samieljbaker even called it "the most macabre waterpark on earth".

The park was abandoned and is now severely degraded. However, the devastation there attracts foreign tourists, turning Thuy Tien Lake into a new popular destination on Instagram.

This park used to be home to some unlucky crocodiles, which were forgotten after the owner left. Many people believed that they died, but recent reports said the crocodiles were rescued and taken to wildlife rescue stations.

Initially information about the water park spread in small communities of backpackers. When this place became famous, local people began to gather at the entrance hoping to make more revenue from the sale of items for tourists.

The water park opened in June 2004 with a total construction cost of up to $3 million. However, it was closed in late 2011 for failing to lure visitors.
