VietNamNet Bridge - Abbott has sent dispatches to the Vietnamese authorities to denounce a HCM City-based company – the Song Nam Investment Development Co., Ltd. of using fake documents to import Ensure milk into Vietnam.

Abbott representative said the company had received a copy of a business letter of an US-based company named East West Trading Partners - Abbott Park confirming that Song Nam Company (based in Tan Binh District, HCM City) is the authorized distributor of Abbott Ensure products in Vietnam.

However, the Abbott representative said that this document is faked and the seal of the Abbot in that document is also forged. Abbott confirmed that the East West Trading Partners – Abbott Park has no business relationship with Abbott. Therefore, this unit is not allowed to give any rights for Song Nam to import or sell Abbott products in Vietnam.

According to Abbott, 3A Company is the only official distributor of all of its dairy products in Vietnam.

In the letter to the Vietnam authorities, Abbott also expressed concerns about the quality of Abbott products of unknown origins that Song Nam imported, and it asked the authorities to handle the behavior of this firm to prevent the illegal import.
