VietNamNet Bridge – A news site recently posted an article citing a Facebook blogger who confirmed that actress Tang Thanh Ha attended the first Vietnam international film festival wearing a long gown that was a copy of an Elie Saab design.

The blogger also confirmed that this dress was designed by one of the leading Vietnamese fashion designers – Hoang Hai.

As the result, many negative comments about Hoang Hai appeared on online forums. He was called “a copier”, “a  lier”, etc.

Hoang Hai is famous for his elegant gowns and wedding dresses. He has participated in many big fashion shows in Vietnam. His designs are the choices of many Vietnamese beauty queens and top models.

The reputed designer was unaware of the case until informed by his friend.  Angered by the situation, he asked the news site to provide a clarification, stating that otherwise he would sue the website owners?

Hoang Hai said he didn’t design that dress but knew the designer who made that gown for Tang Thanh Ha.He refused to disclose the name, however.

Tang Thanh Ha apologized to Hoang Hai for the case.

Several days later, a blogger named Voquoc showed two photos to prove that Tang Thanh Ha wore up to two designs that imitated Elie Sabb designs for the Spring-Summer 2010 at the film festival.

Once again, Tang Thanh Ha was criticized by many people on online forums. She received more serious criticisms as she didn’t give any explanation.

“Tang Thanh Ha is a celebrity and she must be aware of maintaining her fame,” a blogger wrote.

“She should have not appeared at an international event in imitated dresses! It’s shameful!” another wrote.

Ha was previously involved in a scandalbecause of the publication of some revealing photos. She also kept silent in this case.
