The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on January 30 jointly launched a 2 million USD initiative on green banking capacity development, aiming to help Vietnam scale up green and climate finance.
Vietnam's economy remains resilient to increasing uncertainties and high US tariffs thanks to solid domestic demand, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) said in its September Asian Development Outlook (ADO).
The World Bank has allocated 2.5 billion USD, while the Asian Development Bank has set aside 10 billion USD to support green projects in ASEAN, said Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
The loan will be used to increase the plant’s capacity from 30,000 to 80,000 cubic metres per day, ensuring a reliable supply of clean water for residents, as well as for the growing number of commercial and industrial users.
Despite a regional slowdown, ADB expects Vietnam’s GDP to grow 6.3% in 2025, backed by robust exports, rising FDI, and strong public investment.
ADB will provide technical support for Petrolimex to carry out its work, including a preliminary assessment of the group's investment and business portfolio and potential energy transition roadmaps.
Leaders of Ho Chi Minh City had a working session with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on February 20 to review the progress of key ADB-funded drainage and wastewater treatment projects.
