Local newspapers report that Hanoi has asked the Ministry of Health to give guidance on allowing people who have two vaccination shots to travel. This has spawned several business ideas.
Citizens may have to show their printed vaccination certificates or QR Codes certifying vaccination. If they use QR Codes, they will have to use smartphones and have their QR Codes scanned at checkpoints.
To make the process convenient and time saving, personal QR Codes can be printed on T-shirts. If so, they will not have to show their smartphones to officers at checkpoints.
The price of one T-shirt, including the printing fee, is VND100,000-150,000.
Nguyen Truong Vu, a T-shirt seller, said that he can print the customized QR Codes. “The T-shirts help their owners scan QR Codes very quickly and conveniently. The owners don’t have to spend time to take their smartphones from their pockets or handbags,” Vu said.
Tran Minh Tu, a netizen, suggested that the T-shirt should have green color to make it easier to recognize fully vaccinated people, and have QR Codes for easy check.
Nguyen Hoang, another netizens, commented that this is a good business idea that can help young people earn money.
Tuan Linh, an officer, said that people can make fat profits from such ideas because the pandemic will continue.
“I will buy seven T-shirts with QR Codes to wear seven days a week,” Linh said.
However, some netizens were cautious about the idea. They said printing QR Codes on T-shirts can make the shirts more ‘fashionable’ in the 4.0 era, but warned that it would be dangerous to print real personal QR Codes.
“Your personal information will leak and your privacy will be infringed upon,” a netizen warned.
At present, T-shirts with images related to Covid-19 vaccines are selling well via e-commerce sites. A shirt with the words ‘Toi da tiem vaccine’ (I have been vaccinated) is being sold at VND150,000. A badge is priced at VND30,000.
T-shirts with instant noodle images are also in high demand, priced at VND60,000-150,000. This is probably due to the high demand for instant noodles during the pandemic.
