The club was fined on Wednesday for two violations during a match against Global Cebu of the Philippines in the AFC Cup on February 10 at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, in which Thanh Hoa beat their rival 1-0.

The first violation was that the event’s organising board, FLC Thanh Hoa, let a stranger (not a reporter or event staff) approach the locker-room of the two teams. The second action which invited the penalty was the inability of the organising board to prevent some seven fans from stepping into the pitch area after the match.

Thanh Hoa will have 30 days to appeal to AFC.

Thanh Hoa had to choose My Dinh Stadium as their home turf for the AFC Cup matches as Thanh Hoa’s Stadium does not fulfil AFC’s norms.
