Additionally, the FFAV (Football for All in Vietnam) project, a collaboration between VFF and the Norwegian Football Federation, was named Asia’s Best Grassroots Project. The PVF Youth Football Academy was honored as the Youth Academy of the Year, a prestigious AFC award for youth football excellence.
Nguyen Hoang Phuong, a VFF Grassroots Committee member and Director of the FFAV project, received the award for Asia’s Best Grassroots Leader, recognizing his outstanding contributions to grassroots football in Vietnam.
The VFF has partnered with the Ministry of Education and Training to implement school football programs across 1,000 schools in 63 provinces. The FFAV model has been expanded to over 15 provinces, with highlights including the Vietnam-Norway Cup, which has engaged 3,000–4,000 elementary and middle school students annually over the past five years, with 50% participation from girls.
In 2025, VFF and FFAV aim to enhance and expand the grassroots football model, focusing on practical and scalable methods. VFF has completed an official curriculum for children aged U6 to U12 and continues to support youth tournaments for students, increasing investments in grassroots football.
The VFF plans to prioritize school football development in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training, creating comprehensive plans to integrate football into school systems nationwide.
In 2024, the VFF successfully organized various youth football tournaments as part of the national competition system, including U21, U19 (men and women), U20 men’s futsal, U16 women, and U15, U13, U11, and U9 categories.
The VFF actively engages in social responsibility initiatives and is a committed member of the AFC Grassroots Football Charter. It regularly organizes activities to celebrate AFC Women’s Football Day and Grassroots Football Day, reinforcing its dedication to community and youth development.
