In its pre-match analysis of the encounter between Vietnam U23 and Saudi Arabia U23, the AFC praised Thai Son’s consistency and influence in midfield. The Thanh Hoa FC player has recorded an impressive 86.4% pass completion rate in victories over Jordan U23 and Kyrgyzstan U23, underlining his importance to Vietnam’s fluent play.

“Thai Son is in outstanding form,” the AFC wrote. “If Vietnam U23 are to achieve a result beyond their runner-up finish in 2018, he will play a vital role.”

Speaking ahead of the decisive fixture, Thai Son stressed that the team remain grounded despite their strong start. “There are no easy matches for us,” he said. “I’m happy with the two wins so far, but Vietnam U23 must keep pushing, stay focused on each game, and aim to go as far as possible in this tournament.”

He added: “Vietnam U23 are always hungry for victory and determined to aim for the highest goal. We will give everything on the pitch to bring pride to our country and achieve the best possible result in the next match.”

Assessing the overall situation in Group A, the AFC noted that the side coached by Kim Sang Sik are in a strong position to secure a quarter-final berth. Going into the final round, Vietnam U23 are confident of fulfilling their objective and extending their stay at the tournament.

The match between Vietnam U23 and Saudi Arabia U23 is scheduled to kick off at 11:30 p.m. on January 12.
