The 2025 AFF Women’s Championship will take place in Vietnam from August 6 to 19, bringing together the region’s top eight women’s football teams.

This year’s tournament holds special significance as Vietnam plays host and aims to win the title on home soil. Matches will be held at two venues: Lach Tray Stadium in Hai Phong (hosting Group A, semifinals, and final), and Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho (hosting Group B).

Vietnam’s women’s national team is in Group A alongside Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia. They will face Cambodia and Indonesia before taking on Thailand in the final group stage match on August 12 – a clash seen as the “early final” that could determine the top position and a favorable semifinal berth.

Under the guidance of coach Mai Duc Chung, the team, blending seasoned veterans and promising young talents, is expected to uphold their regional dominance, especially following an impressive showing at the 2023 Women’s World Cup. The tournament is poised to mark a pivotal moment in Vietnam’s quest to reach the summit of Southeast Asian women’s football.
