Thao was born in Quang Binh and she used to speak in Quang Binh accent from birth. She has never gone to Hanoi.

On July 25, she was hit by a motorbike on the road and fell down to the ground. She fainted for four hours and was brought to the Hue Central Hospital in Hue city for treatment.

She left the hospital on August 7 and since then she began to speak in a Hanoi accent.

Thao said she did not feel anything abnormal.

Dr. Nguyen Chanh, from the Military Hospital 103, said that perhaps the accident made a change in Thao’s brain area which controls her language.
