As of January 12, airlines have sold 80-100% of available tickets on flights between HCMC, Hanoi, and other localities during the Lunar New Year period, from January 24 to February 25. This period spans from the 14th day of the final lunar month to the 16th of the first lunar month.
Flights from HCMC to various regions, including Buon Ma Thuot, Danang, Haiphong, Hue, Pleiku, Quang Ninh, and Vinh, are showing seat occupancies of 90-100% from February 1 to 11, covering the 22nd day of the final lunar month to the 2nd of the first lunar month.
Air tickets for flights from other regions to HCMC have also nearly sold out from February 13 to 19, immediately after Vietnam’s biggest and longest holiday.
For flights from Hanoi to various destinations before Tet, seat occupancies have exceeded 88%, reaching 100% on the route from Hanoi to Vinh.
On major routes like HCMC-Hanoi and Hanoi-Danang, seat occupancies have been steadily increasing from February 3rd to 18th. However, ticket availability remains abundant, with an average seat occupancy of 45%, a 5-7% increase compared to the previous week.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Vietnamese airlines have added 472 additional flights with more than 92,000 seats on routes between Hanoi and HCMC to destinations with high reservation rates during Lunar New Year 2024.
