According to the ministry, the demand among local people to travel abroad for work or study is increasing. However, ongoing social distancing measures taken to combat COVID-19 in pandemic-hit localities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and other southern localities has made it challenging for people to find routes to reach nearby airports.
In the context that a number localities are imposing travel restrictions, residents with air tickets should be assisted to get to airports on time, the ministry said in its dispatch to localities.
It requested that officials stationed at checkpoints facilitate conditions for these people if they are able to present valid passports and visas, paper or electronic air tickets, and valid certificates of RT-PCR tests showing a negative COVID-19 test.
Passengers are required to complete healthcare declarations at checkpoints and strictly follow the Health Ministry’s COVID-19 guidelines in order to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
