On the afternoon of November 18 (local time), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, accompanied by his wife and a senior Vietnamese delegation, arrived at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers, beginning his official visit to Algeria from November 18 to 20, at the invitation of Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb.

In an expression of exceptional courtesy, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb received Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse at the foot of the aircraft stairs.

He then presided over the official welcome ceremony for the Vietnamese Prime Minister, his spouse, and the high-level delegation.

When Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reached the position of honor, the national anthem of Vietnam was played.

Following this, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb invited the Vietnamese Prime Minister to review the guard of honor.

The two prime ministers introduced members of their respective delegations from Algeria and Vietnam who were present at the ceremony.

After a brief exchange, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb escorted Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the motorcade area.

The Vietnamese leader is scheduled to hold official talks with his Algerian counterpart and meet with other top leaders of Algeria on November 19.

Despite the geographical distance, Vietnam and Algeria share a long-standing friendship, forged particularly during their respective struggles for national independence and sovereignty.

This visit marks the first by a Vietnamese Prime Minister to Algeria in a decade, with the last visit occurring in 2015.

The visit holds significant importance in advancing bilateral cooperation to new heights, ushering in a more dynamic and comprehensive partnership.

It is expected to further solidify political trust and serve as a catalyst for economic, trade, and investment collaboration while enhancing people-to-people connections between the two nations as they enter a new phase of development.
