The General Department of Customs (Ministry of Finance) has directed local customs authorities to take immediate and stringent measures to prevent and manage the import of invasive alien species, particularly crayfish (Procambarus clarkii).
Chinese crawfish is imported and sold at many Vietnamese markets. It has become one of the best sellers on online markets. Vietnamese businesspeople have imported Chinese crawfish in large quantities as domestic demand is high.
Despite being an invasive species that threatens agriculture, Chinese crayfish have infiltrated Vietnamese markets, attracting customers with their appealing color and taste.
