Vietnam’s northwestern region welcomes September and October with golden terraced rice fields. Here are some pictures of yellow season in Mu Cang Chai, Y Ty, and Hoang Su Phi taken by photographer Le Viet Khanh.
A beautiful road overlooks terraced rice fields. The mountains provide limited land for wet rice cultivation. Local people take full advantage of hillsides to create beautiful terraced rice fields. A famous hill in La Pan Tan – Mu Cang Chai. Photographers call it “Mam Xoi” (Tray of sticky rice) hill. The rocky path up Mam Xoi hill is a challenge for photographers. 500 hectares of terraced rice fields in La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha, and De Xu Phinh commune were recognized as national heritage sites in 2007 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
