VietNamNet Bridge – Oil paintings by Buddhist priest Phap Hanh have been exhibited in Vietnam and many countries.

The monk’s real name is Nguyen Quang Thinh. He was born in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue in 1956. He is now a member of the Vien Khong monastery in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

“Painting art is borderless and the path to experiment universal truth through colors. I draw on cloth to express my feeling about the world, the space, the time, the natural move of the universe,” he said.

The monk-painter did not name his paintings. “These works are the flow of inner feeling. Giving names to them is ‘enframing’ them and take off the true meaning of these works,” he explained.
