VietNamNet Bridge – After two days of competition, the international parasailing competition in Da nang city closed on May 27. The championship was presented to French athlete Mathive Rouanet.
The event impressed local residents and visitors in Da nang. Several thousands of people witnessed the performance of 25 athletes from the US, France, Japan and Poland each day.
Two athletes, including famous pilot Didier Eymin had to say goodbye to the competition early because of injuries.
Many visitors paid US$50-60 to experience this sport with pilots, lasting around ten minutes.
The event finished at 3pm of May 27, with the champion cup and $10,000 bonus presented to Mathive Rouanet from France. The only female pilot from Poland, Emilia Plak won the second prize. Japanese athlete Ryoya Igarashi, 56, ranked third.
