American pianist Anne Chamberlain will give a free concert in Hanoi on August 21.

She is scheduled to play classical pieces of works written by Germany composer W. A. Mozart in the 18th century and tango nuevo by Astor Piazzolla in the 20th century, which is a combination of classical tango, jazz and folk music in association with other Vietnamese artists, including Le Tuan Anh (violon), Ho Viet Khoa (viola) and Nguyen Thanh Tu (cello).

Born in New York City, Chamberlain graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and studied at the Julliard School.

She works as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States and Europe.

In recent years, Chamberlain has guided singers of the Vietnam Opera Ballet Theatre and given chamber music concerts with leading instrumentalists in Hanoi.

She left a good impression on Hanoi’s music lovers at the Goethe Institute in 2010.
