This is considered one of the oldest yellow apricot trees in Vietnam. It is 5m high, with a canopy of 3.5m wide.

The 200-year-old yellow apricot tree is located at a cafe on Nguyen Hoang Street, My Hoa Ward, Long Xuyen City (An Giang Province) owned by Dung.

Dung said that he paid VND1.7 billion to buy the tree in late 2018. Many people offered him higher prices, up to VND6 billion (nearly $300,000), but he refused to resell.

Besides the old yellow apricot tree, Dung owns ten other old yellow apricot trees several dozen to 100 years old. These trees are priced at least VND2 billion each ($100,000).

VietNamNet’s Thao Nguyen paid a visit to Dung’s coffee shop to take photos of his previous trees.

Mr. Duong Tan Dung, 57, is the owner of the 200-year-old yellow apricot tree in An Giang Province.

Yellow apricot blossom – a symbol of Tet in Vietnam

Yellow apricot tree sold at US$176,000

Mr. Bui Van Bang from Cai Lay District, Tien Giang Province yesterday said that he had just sold an over 50-year-old yellow apricot tree at a price of over VND4 billion (US$176,000).
