A treetrunk coffin dating back to the Le Dynasty (15th century) was discovered by workers at an irrigation site in Thinh Loc commune, Loc Ha district, the central province of Ha Tinh, director of the provincial museum Nguyen Tri Son said on July 10.

A treetrunk coffin dating back to the Le Dynasty (15th century) was discovered in the central province of Ha Tinh. 



The coffin, measuring 2.1m in length and 60cm in width, was found at a depth of 2m with three ancient ceramic vases.

The exhibits are being brought to the local museum for further study and exhibition.

Earlier, two ancient tombs with a number of ceramic objects were also unearthed in Thinh Loc commune.

Experts also found many treetrunk coffins in other localities like Can Loc, Cam Xuyen and Loc Ha districts.
