VietNamNet Bridge – During a survey of historical relics, the Relic Management Board of the central province of Nghe An has discovered nearly 100 rare wood-blocks at the Thien temple in Dien Chau district.

The board’s Vice Chief, Mr. Phan Van Hung, says that this is the largest number of ancient wood blocks that have been found in Nghe An. They are rare documents about old rituals and prayer-books.

According to Hung, these wood-blocks were made under the reign of King Khai Dinh, of the Nguyen Dynasty, using Chinese scripts.

He says that Nghe An authorities will print documents on these wood blocks to translate into Vietnamese.
