VietNamNet Bridge – World U10 Champion Anh Khoi (elo 1.912) is seeded No.1 in the U12 category of the 2013 Southeast Asian (SEA) Open Chess Championships, which will take place in Thailand from June 5-14.

Khoi is scheduled to face tough rivals Nitish Bunlurka from India (elo 1.921), and Lee Jun Wei (elo 1.839) and B. Mohd Zhuri (elo 1.823), both from Singapore.

His Vietnamese teammates will be Vuong The Hung Vi (elo 1.791), Nguyen Cong Tai (elo 1.768) and Vo Kim Kang (elo 1.689).

He will also play in the tournament’s U16 standard chess event.

This will be Khoi’s second international competition in 2013 after the HD Bank International Chess Championships in Ho Chi Minh City last March.

The 2013 SEA Open Chess Championships have attracted 386 players from 15 countries who will compete in 14 age groups for both men’s and women’s singles, pairs and mixed pairs events.

Vietnam has sent 116 players to participate in all standard, rapid and blitz events.
