Swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien continued her impressive performance at the ongoing 28th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 28) in Singapore on June 9 with a new record in the women’s 200m butterfly.

She clinched the gold medal when finishing the category in 2 minutes and 11.12 seconds, outpacing the old SEA Games record of 2 minutes and 13.53 seconds of Singapore’s Tao Li.

The 18-year-old has so far broken six SEA Games records and contributed five gold medals to Vietnam’s tally at this year’s regional event.

Her other records were made in the categories of 200m individual medley, 200 backstroke, 400m individual medley, and 800m freestyle.
