According to the latest announcement of the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA), Vien is also the 4th Asian athletes ranked in the list (after one Japanese and two Chinese players).

In 2014, VND4 billion has been spent on Anh Vien’s training in the US and since then has recorded a significant number of outstanding achievements.

She won four gold and two silver medals at the Florida Championship and secured second place at the women’s mix 400m event at the Orlando Grand Prix in the US, ranking just below the current world defending champion Katinka Hosszu.

With her success at the Florida Championship in early March, she now is listed among top 12 outstanding young athletes in the US at the age of 11-18 and was voted as best female athlete in the championships.

This year, Anh Vien expects to clinch a gold medal at the coming Asian Games, scheduled for Incheon city, the Republic of Korea, in September 2014.
