They extended their leads from the main group of cyclists by 1.40 minutes. Duan overcame Thuy and Tai in Cao Lanh City, and later cyclists from the Lao and Dutch CCN teams sped up to approach the leading group. Fourteen racers caught up with them on My Thuan Bridge.
They competed against each other during the race to the finish. Anh took the lead with 3:48.42, followed by Thuy, Duan, Motoi Nara from ADC-Vinh Long and Mai Nguyen Hung from Sai Gon Plant Protection.
Keong took the yellow jersey with 10:58.37. Nhan was second on 10:58.48. Keong's teammate, who took the lead after the three stages, was third with 10:58.57.
The success of the Lao cyclists could not keep them in the top three in the team competition. Sai Gon Plant Protection led with 32:43.18, followed by Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap and ADC-Vinh Long.
