VietNamNet Bridge – Cyclist Do Tuan Anh won the seventh stage of the nation's most prestigious cycling tournament, the HCM City Television (HTV) Cup yesterday, April 28.

Anh from Domesco Dong Thap clocked a top speed of 47.639km per hour during the 51km race, comprised of 10 laps around Da Lat City, which he completed in one hour, four minutes and 14 seconds.


Le Nguyet Minh of Sai Gon Plant Protection 2 and Tran Van Quyen of Military Zone 7 finished second and third, respectively in the seventh stage.


Trinh Duc Tam of Ha Noi won the yellow jersey with the best overall time of 21:21.39, followed by Bui Minh Thuy of ADC-Vinh Long Television and Nguyen Thanh Tam of An Giang Plant Protection.


Cyclist Le Nguyet Minh of Sai Gon Plant Protection 2 team retained the green jersey as best sprinter with 21 points, while stage winner Anh finished runner-up with 19 points.


Winning this stage, Anh took his team, Domesco Dong Thap, into the lead after seven stages with a combined time of 64:07.25. ADC-Vinh Long Television and Sai Gon Plant Protection 1 finished second and third, respectively.


Today, cyclists from 14 premier clubs will continue their 101km eighth stage race from Da Lat to Bao Loc City in the central highlands province of Lam Dong.


The event, which will conclude tomorrow, is held annually, and celebrates the 36th anniversary of South Viet Nam Liberation Day on April 30, covering an overall distance of 1,000km in nine different stages.
