VietNamNet Bridge – The online community is once again shocked by a 4-minute clip featuring six girls beating, taking off the shirt and cutting the hair of another girl.

Police have investigated the case and reported that it happened on October 23 near a high school in Quang Ninh province. It was filmed on a mobile phone and uploaded to the Internet after that.

In the clip, six schoolgirls beat, cut the hair and the shirt of another girl. A group of students, mainly boys, witnessed what was happening but nobody tried to save the victim. Some even cheered the violent girls and insulted the victim.

Quang Ninh police have identified three of the six girls involved in the case. They turned out to be college students. The ringleader, named Yen, is a highschool graduate. Yen summoned other five girls to beat up the victim, named Nham – a 11th grader, because Nham went out with her boyfriend.

The victim and her family asked police to not take criminal action against the six girls.

According to Quang Ninh province newspaper, after the case, the victim – Nham, also beat up a female student at her school.

The case has attracted public attention, especially among young people.

“I was so scared watching the clip. I couldn’t hold back my tears. What would have happened if the victim was not her but me when people around cheered and didn’t protest against such a violent ac. Does watching others’ pain make them happy?” a schoolgirl commented on an online forum.

“I don’t know the reason but this clip reveals a sad fact about the young today. It is unacceptable for a group of people to assault someone  in broad daylight!” another one wrote.

“I am terrified with young gangsters, and with many people’s lack of reaction when seeing the pain and humilation of others!” yet another wrote.

This is not the first case of school violence. What has happened with the morality and personal integrity of young people? VietNamNet has opened a forum for experts and young people to express their on these incidents.
