VietNamNet Bridge - Five anti-corruption activists are to be honoured for their contribution in the anti-corruption fight at the National Patriotic Emulation Congress held today.

The Office of Central Steering Committee on Anti-corruption held a meeting with five individuals who are to be honour for their part in stopping anti-corruption from occurring in Hanoi. It is the first time these individuals will be honoured at the National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

On the same day, Tran Thi Ha, Chairwoman of the Central Emulation and Rewards Councils and Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee met the city’s delegations who will join the 8th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

 

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Quan said, The 8th National Patriotic Emulation Congress is one of the most important events with participation at various levels and sectors in all social life.

 

In HCM City, patriotic emulation campaign helped accelerate the city's socio-economic development. In 2010, although the country’s economy still faced many difficulties, HCM City continues to lead other cities, in various sectors of the economy, with an increase of 11.8 percent in GDP.
