VietNamNet Bridge – The Office of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-corruption (CSCA) reported at a meeting in Hanoi on July 17 that it has dealt with 28 serious cases of corruption in the first half of this year.

The Office held the meeting to review its activities in the first six month of 2012 and make recommendations to help the committee combat corruption effectively.

It said it has worked on serious, complicated cases quickly, and settle the hundreds of complaints and denunciations from petitioners.

At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised the office’s overall improved performance and urged it to enhance the quality of monitoring and continue assisting localities, ministries and departments in anti-corruption activities.

He asked Office staff to work closely with relevant agencies to develop the second phase of the Government’s National Anti-Corruption Strategy and Action Plan 2012-2016.

Deputy PM Phuc presented the Labour Order, second class, to the Office for its achievements over the past five years, as well as the Independence Order, second class, to its former manager, Vu Tien Chien.
