VietNamNet Bridge – The Government Inspectorate will work at the Vietnam Airlines in 10 days, starting from May 13, to clarify a number of issues related to the fight against corruption.
The inspection team is led by Mr. Le Kha Thanh, Deputy Director of the Government Inspectorate.
Earlier, during the inspection of the management of construction investment projects of the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, the Inspectors of the Ministry of Construction found many violations worth over VND4.7 billion ($230,000).
The transportation inspectors discovered problems associated with the project to upgrade the runway and passenger terminal building at the Da Nang International Airport. Those mistakes led to the incorrect acceptance and payment of the total amount of VND4.7 billion.
The inspectors asked the Airports Corporation of Vietnam to punish related organizations and individuals.
The history of Vietnam Airlines dates back to January 1956, when the Vietnam Civil Aviation Department was established by the Government, marking the birth of the civil aviation industry in Vietnam.
April 1993, Vietnam Airlines was officially established as the country’s national flag carrier. On the 27th May 1995, Vietnam Airlines Corporation was born with the gathering of 20 aviation enterprises and the airline itself as the core business.
