VietNamNet Bridge – New anti-dumping tariffs imposed by the US Department of Commerce (DOC) for catfish imports from Vietnam are being described as “unreasonable, but bearable” for Vietnamese seafood exporters.
The nation’s high anti-dumping tax on the shrimps from Vietnam at 25.76 percent has been decided by the US Department of Commerce in the eighth period of review (POR8). But Vietnamese hope they still have the chances to petition for lower tax rates.

VietNamNet Bridge – The US Department of Commerce has dropped a 4.7 per cent anti-dumping tax on Vietnamese shrimps. The tax had been in place since 2004. The new zero rate will be applied for two years until a new review is made.
Bad news has come in thick and fast to Vietnamese farmers and farm produce exporters.
There were the “billionaires’ islets” in Mekong Delta, where farmers got rich with their catfish farming.
VASEP has affirmed that Vietnam’s catfish exports would keep going to the US as normal, denying the rumor that the catfish export has got stuck because of the high anti-dumping duties.
