Argentina and the European Commission, the executive arm of the European Union (EU), signed two agreements on boosting joint investments and technology exchanges Sunday in Buenos Aires, the Argentine Industry Ministry said.

Argentina's Industry Minister Debora Giorgi hailed the agreements as a landmark in terms of supporting small- and medium-sized businesses from both sides.

As for the agreements, the first one allows the two sides' companies to jointly finance projects with a focus on domestic market exploration and export promotion.

The second one focuses on skills and technology exchanges on the entrepreneurial level.

According to the latest report released by Argentina's National Statistics and Census Institute, Argentina's exports to the EU surged 31 percent while imports climbed 21 percent in the first ten months this year, with a trade surplus of about 2.5 billion U.S. dollars in Argentina's favor.
