American pop-star Ariane Grande to perform in Ho Chi Minh City

Grande’s third tour “The Dangerous Women” will hit Ho Chi Minh City on August 23 and is expected to be one of the biggest international music events in Vietnam in recent years.

Her Vietnamese fans are set to pay between 790,000 – 16 million VND (35 – 700 USD) to enjoy a live performance in Ho Chi Minh City. The show is also expected to attract fans from neighbouring nations, including Thailand.

Vietnam has hosted numerous tours of international artists this year, particularly singers from the Republic of Korea (RoK), with the most recent performance “Saigon Water World by Warrior” by RoK singer Jessica Jung in Ho Chi Minh City on June 24.

Other artists from the RoK, namely SNSD, NCT, Super Junior, T-ara, DIA, JYJ and 2NE1 have also made regular tours to Vietnam.

Grande’s show is expected to promote Vietnam‘s music market in the world market.

Vietnamese fans typically have to fly to Thailand, Singapore or Hong Kong to enjoy shows from big stars such as Madonna and Britney Spears, which might have drawn the attention of music promoters to the Vietnamese market’s potential.

Another global star, Justin Bieber is rumoured to be planning an October gig in Vietnam, as is Celine Dion.
