Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh hailed Armenia’s decision to open its embassy in Vietnam as an important foundation for strengthening bilateral ties at a reception for Armenian Ambassador in Vietnam Raisa Vardanyan on July 14.
The two diplomats discussed measures to consolidate the traditional ties of friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
They agreed to boost delegation exchange at all levels, revamp legal foundations, especially agreements on economics, trade, investment, culture and education, and consider establishing mechanisms such as Inter-Governmental Committee and parliamentary cooperation to promote bilateral cooperation in potential areas.
FM Minh also suggested the two foreign ministries to continue their closer coordination at international forums.
For his part, Armenian Ambassador Vardanyan expressed concern about the recent developments in the East Sea, noting that all issues should be resolved by peaceful means.
