The event attracted 2,000 athletes — both armed forces and militia soldiers and students — competing in men’s 6km and women’s 3km.

In the army event, Mai Thanh Duy and Le Minh Tai of Gia Dinh regiment won gold and silver medal, while Nguyen Hoang Phuc of Scout Task Force took bronze.

In the men’s militia force, Nguyen Quoc Duy, Nguyen Hai Ninh of the Military Headquarters of District 1 received the gold and silver medals, while the bronze medal belonged to Thai Huu Quy of Military Headquarters of District 6.

In the women’s militia force, Tran Thanh Truc of the Military Headquarters of District Binh Tan took first place, while Nong Thi Bien of the Military Headquarters of District 8 and Le Xuan Hong of the Military Headquarters of District 6 were the runners-up.

In the boys’ student category, To Tan Tai, Nguyen Phi Cuong of Nguyen Thi Dinh Gifted School won gold and silver and Chau Hoang The Lan of Can Gio District took bronze medal.

In the girls’ student division, Nguyen Thị Lan Thanh of Can Gio District was the victor, while Le Thi Thanh Nhan of District 12 and Tran Le Khanh of District 2 bagged the silver and bronze, respectively.

The tournament celebrated the 70th anniversary National Resistance Day (December 19) and the 72nd anniversary of the Viet Nam People’s Army (December 22).
