More than two weeks ago, Arsenal made the initial list of 69 members, including 44 players. However, this is the list for getting visas, not the final list.
The official list was released by coach Arsene Wenger on July 10, with 24 players who will participate in the Asia Tour 2013 visit to Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan.
The list includes: two goalkeeper, 6 defenders, 11 midfielders and 5 strikers. The popular players like Santi Cazorla, Nacho Monreal, Thomas Vermaelen and Abou Diaby will be absent from the tour. The two firsts were allowed to stay home by coach Wenger while Vermaelen and Diaby are injured.
Also, Nicklas Bendtner, Park Chu Young and Samuels Campbell will not take part in the tour since they are in the process of negotiating for the transfer.
Goalkeeper Vito Manone will be also absent because he has joined Sunderland. The young midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong is also injured. The new striker Sanogo is busy playing for the French U20 team.
However the list has the bright faces of Arsenal at present, such as Wojciech Szczesny, Bacary Sagna, Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny, Lukas Podolski, Jack Wilshere, Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
In addition, coach Wenger also addes to the list seven players from the youth team, including Chuba Akpom, Kristoffer Olsson, Ignasi Miquel, Serge Gnabry, Chuks Aneke, Thomas Eisfeld and Gedion Zelalem.
