HCM City hosts ASEAN Charming TV pageant

The contest, began last year by HCM City Television (HTV), aims to promote friendship among he member countries, Huynh Van Nam, general director of HTV, said.
He also hoped the annual event would make HCM City the gateway for the countries to exchange culture and knowledge.
This year's line-up again includes editors, emcees, reporters, and performers from Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Brunei, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Viet Nam.
The jury, comprising TV producers and researchers from Viet Nam and the Philippines, will select the three best contestants who will then have to field questions.
The pageant will be held at the HTV Theatre and broadcast live on HTV9.
The visitors will be shown around HCM City, the organisers said.

VTV programme talks business for global audience
Viet Nam Television's is keeping prospective international investors informed about the country's economic environment by broadcasting Insight Viet Nam, a 30-minute fortnightly talk show for a global audience on VTV4.
The show, aired every other Tuesday, seeks to tap leading business people's practical experience and knowledge of the market, Phi Nguyen, who hosts it, said.
They will speak about the characteristics, prospects, opportunities, and challenges in the market and the problems facing the country's economy.
The first couple of shows focused on an overview and they will now delve into specific industries like advertising, real estate, and banking, Nguyen said.
The show is subtitled in Vietnamese and can be streamed at sgtt.vn and on social sites like Wordpress, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.
Insight Viet Nam is a joint effort by Viet Nam Television, Sai Gon Tiep Thi (Sai Gon Marketing) newspaper, and the Sai Gon Media Company.
The next episode will be broadcast at 6.15pm on Tuesday and rerun at 12.15am on the next day.
Construction begins on Japan-style Zen resort
The Thang Long Xanh Investment Company, an affiliate of Archi Group has launched Zen resort project, a Japan-styled resort complex in Ha Noi.
Le Tuan Anh, director of the company, said that the VND220 billion (US$10.6 million) project covers an area of over 50ha in Yen Bai Commune, the outlying district of Ba Vi.
Zen resort will include a quiet zen garden that surrounded by green trees from Japan, a swimming pool, a tennis court, spa and entertainment areas.
Adjacent to Zen resort will be about 90 villas that sit on the hillside.
The project is expected to go into operation in the third quarter of 2013.
