Le Xuan Chieu, one of seven artists from the southern metro, uses traditional materials like lacquer to focus on folk culture.
His lacquer painting Mua Xuan Tren Ban Thai (Spring at Thai Village) depicts freshness and joy of the Thai ethnic people's spring celebrations.
Nguyen Thi To Uyen, Nguyen My Linh, Nguyen Thuy Huong, Nguyen Minh Quang, Cao Thi Song, and Tieu Van Khoa are the others based in HCM City.
Ngo Van Sac of Ha Noi depicts modern people and lifestyles in his woodcut Ngay Dai (Long Day).
The exhibition is on at the Applied Arts Centre, HCM City Fine Arts College, 5 Phan Dang Luu Street, Binh Thanh District, and will remain open until tomorrow, April 21.
