The Vietnam Heritage magazine, HCMC’s Cultural Heritage Association and Canon Marketing Vietnam on Wednesday unveiled the contest which aims to raise people’s awareness on the preservation of Vietnam’s natural and cultural heritage and to seek the best artworks to exhibit across Vietnam and to be included in the magazine’s printed and online versions.

Participants, who can come from all over the world, can apply a single photo or a collection without photoshop on the theme of landscapes, the country and people with 300 Dpi and 3MB each to vietnamdisan@gmail.com or by sending a photo disc to Vietnam Heritage magazine at 15A/28 Le Thanh Ton Street in District 1 or HCMC’s Cultural Heritage Association at 2 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street in District 1.

Artists are advised to give clear captions for their photos stating the time, venue, characters, name of the work and name of the author and/or text explaining more details about the photo. Entries have to be in by September 15.

There would be 20 awards for a single work and photo collection, including a special prize consisting of a Canon EOS7D and a Pixma Ip7270 printer; first prize of a Canon EOS60D and a Selphy CP900 printer, second prize of a Canon Powershot N and a Selphy CP900, third prize of a Canon Ixus 132 and a Selphy CP900 and 16 consolation prizes to win accommodation vouchers at luxury resorts and hotels in Vietnam.

The judging panel will have the participation of photographer Dao Hoa Nu, member of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (VAPA); Meritorious Artist/director Tran My Ha, Le Thanh Hai, editor-in-chief of the Vietnam Heritage magazine and photo journalist/artist Nguyen Ba Han.

The organizers will exhibit around 1,000 photos at ten locations in Vietnam, including HCMC, Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Danang, Hue and Halong, from October 24 until the end of November.
