VietNamNet Bridge - Many Vietnamese 9X, born in the 1990s, can spend tens or hundreds of billions of dong to buy shares. But the origin of their assets is unclear.

An analyst noted that the Vietnamese stock market was special because of the presence of the ‘rich kids’, who can spend hundreds of billions of dong to buy shares though they are only 20 years old.

The wealth of the 9X generation can be seen in big stock deals made in the stock market in the last days of September.

Nguyen Tran Thao Nguyen, the daughter of Nguyen Quang Hoa, deputy chair of Thien Nam Import/Export Company (TNA), caught the special attention of the public when local newspapers reported that she now holds more than 2 million shares of TNA, or 25.49 percent of the company’s stake.

However, the most impressive deal in late September was the one made by Le Tuan Anh, a very unfamiliar player in the market.

Anh was the buyer in a transaction in which 4.73 million S99 shares were transferred. With the deal, Anh now holds 12.78 percent of S99 shares. Meanwhile, the 21-year old investor had never held S99 before.

It is still unclear about the value of the deal (the transaction was carried out under the negotiation mode). However, analysts, considering S99 market price, estimated that Anh had to spend no less than VND33 billion on the shares.

Dang Nguyen Quynh Anh, the daughter of Dang Thanh Tam, chair and CEO of the Kinh Bac Urban Area Development Corporation (KBC), stirred up the public with the deal of purchasing 10 million KBC.

Anh is now the richest 9X stock millionaire in the Vietnamese stock market with stock assets valued at VND124 billion.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Ngoc Nhat Hanh, the daughter of Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh, chair and CEO of the Refrigeration Engineering Enterprise (REE), is known as the first 9X stock millionaire. The young girl reportedly once owned assets worth nearly VND100 billion.

Nguyen Ngoc My, the daughter of Nguyen Tuan Hai from Alphanam, an investment joint stock company, is also well known among stock investors after campaigns to collect ALP shares. The young millionaire now holds 9.6 million ALP shares, or 4.98 percent of the company’s stake.

It is still unclear about the sources of money the young millionaires are using to buy shares.

Le Tuan Anh just ‘surfed on the shares’ and reportedly made a fat profit of VND2 billion within several days. It is difficult to find information about the individual investor as he is no longer a big shareholder of the company, and therefore, he does not have to publicize information.
