VietNamNet Bridge - The 13th National Assembly yesterday afternoon continued voting for personnel for council, committees and members of the Secretariat.
Ten chairs nominated for National Assembly’s committees

As a result of voting, Ksor Phuoc was elected Chairman of the Council of Ethnic Affairs with 98.2 per cent, Phan Trung Ly was elected Chairman of the Law Committee with 95.6 per cent, Nguyen Van Hien was elected Chairman of the Justice Committee with 92.7 per cent and Nguyen Van Giau was elected Economics Committee Chairman with 94.2 per cent.
Finance and Budget Committee Chairman Phung Quoc Hien received 98.6 per cent of votes. National Defence and Security Committee Chairman Nguyen Kim Khoa received 96.4 per cent. Chairman of the Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children Dao Trong Thi received 96.4 per cent. Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee Truong Thi Mai received 96 per cent. Chaiman of Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Phan Xuan Dung received 96.6 per cent, and Chairman of the External Relations Committee Tran Van Hang received 97.4 per cent of votes.
Nguyen Hanh Phuc was elected head of the Secretariat with 98.6 per while General State Auditor Vuong Dinh Hue received 98.2 per cent of votes for his relief.
During the session, personnel for positions such as vice chair person and members of the NA ethnic affairs council, among others, were also nominated, although some decided to withdraw from standing.
Minorities
The National Assembly's Ethnic Council, in co-operation with the Committee for Ethnic Minorities, yesterday evening held a meeting with NA deputies from ethnic minorities.
The meeting included prominent leaders such as Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, former Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, President Truong Tan Sang, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, NA Deputy Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, Council of Ethnic Affairs Chairman Ksor Phuoc and Government Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs Chairman Giang Seo Phu.
Phuoc, on behalf of 78 NA ethnic deputies, pledged to do whatever necessary in order to strengthen national unity.
NA Chairman Hung said that the meeting symbolised great spirit, emphasising the important role of the Ethnic Council in implementing policies to better care for ethnic people.
Also yesterday evening, the NA Social Affairs Committee held its first session to lay out its working plan for the coming term.
