* Top football competition given a new name
The National Administration of Sports and Physical Training on Tuesday decided on V-League Eximbank as the official name of the top national football championship.
Viet Nam Professional Football Company (VPF), which has been managing the tournament since last December, named it Super League but the administration believed the name was not suitably emblematic of the nation.
VPF leaders then proposed the name "V-Super League" which was approved by the VFF at a recent meeting.
However, the administration decided to keep the title V-League.
Also on Tuesday, the administration turned down the VFF's proposal that overseas Vietnamese footballers be allowed to play as locals in the league.
The administration said it would limit opportunities for young players.
