VietNamNet Bridge – The Ministry of National Defence yesterday, May 25, briefed foreign military attaches on efforts to search for foreign soldiers who remain missing in action (MIA) after the wars.

He also introduced criteria, tasks, requirements and methods used to carry out the MIA activities.
In recent years, the ministry's MIA agency has carried out investigations, research, document collection, witness interviews and excavations to facilitate the search for and repatriation of soldiers remains. Technical meetings have also been organised between Viet Nam and the US.
Viet Nam handed 915 sets of remains over to the US as well as repatriated the remains of many Australian soldiers who have been MIA since the wars.
The US and Australian sides expressed thanks and appreciation for Viet Nam's humanitarian goodwill in searching for and returning MIA remains to their countries and families.
Military attaches of Australia, Cambodia, Singapore and South Africa thanked the agency for exchanging MIA-related information and expressed their hopes that future MIA tasks would continue to be implemented effectively in the future.
