The event’s organizer, LYTHI Auction - the Vietnam's first commercial fine art auction house, will select 18 art works by famous artists of history of Vietnamese fine art, such as To Ngoc Van (1905-1954), To Ngoc Thanh, Hoang Lap Ngon (1910-2006), Hoang Hong Cam (1959-2011), Luu Cong Nhan (1929-2007), Van Den (1919-1988), Hoang Tich Chu (1912-2003), Bui Quang Ngoc, Nguyen Hai Chi (Chóe, 1943-2003).
The auction will aslo include the drawing with tracing paper of the art work themed “Phong canh dong que” (Countryside landscape, 1968) by Nguyen Gia Tri. This masterpiece with lacquer which is renamed “Nho trung du Bac bo” (Nostalgie du Haut Tonkin) is expected to be sold at US$ 154,812-US$232,217 at a Christie's auction in Hong Kong (China), the Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art, on May 27.
The event also marks the 63th death anniversary of painter To Ngoc Van and the 10th death anniversary of painter Luu Cong Nhan.
All of these artworks have been displayed in the Cafe des Beaux Arts, located on the Ground Floor of the Hôtel des Arts Saigon during one week from May 20 -27.
