Hoan Kiem lake is a national freshwater lake in the heart of Hanoi which is one of the major scenic spots in the city and serves as a rendervouz for its public life.

Hanoi is also very famous for national dishes, including coffee, serving as a special ‘ambassador’ to promote Vietnam to the world.

This is Penning Wong’s second visit to Vietnam in her capacity as Minister for Foreign Affairs of Australia.

During her first Vietnam visit in June 2022, the Australian diplomat tasted famous Vietnamese phở gà (noodle with chicken).

While staying in Hanoi this time, Minister Penny Wong and her Vietnamese counterpart Bui Thanh Son will co-chair the fifth Vietnam – Australia Foreign Ministers Meeting.

The meeting will review the implementation of the outcome of the recent high-level visits, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, security-defense, education-training, labour, and agriculture.

It will also outline orientations for cooperation in new fields such as digital transformation, digital economy and energy transformation.

Vietnam and Australia established diplomatic ties on February 26, 2009, and the two countries are celebrating 50 years of their diplomatic ties this year.
