Duo Janet and Raffaele Agostino will also showcase pieces from their Under the Southern Skies album.

Both have played guitar in Australia and other countries. They share a strong interest in the development of the guitar as an ensemble instrument.

They have been made life members of the Sydney Classical Guitar Society for significant and sustained contributions.

The duo will also spend time with students at the National University of Art Education on September 27.

"Vietnamese appreciation of fine music is well known, so we are really looking forward to performing and working with students," said Janet.

Dinh Thi Phuong Hoa, director of international relations at the university, said she was happy at the opportunity for students to meet and learn from international artists.

The concert, organised by the Australian Embassy, is among a series of activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Viet Nam.

Hugh Borrowman, Australian Ambassador to Viet Nam, said Duo Agostino have been chosen to perform for the Vietnamese audience because not only do they play the guitar beautifully, but they have also been successful in the development of the guitar as an ensemble instrument. "This makes them very special," he said.

Free tickets to Duo Agostino concert are available at the theatre, 58 Quan Su Street, Ha Noi and the Australian Embassy, 8 Dao Tan Street, Ha Noi from September 16.
