VietNamNet Bridge – The municipal People's Committee will consider renting all State-owned vacated houses, including those that have been confiscated, returned by State-owned companies, for their staff for accommodation purposes.

This is one article in a new draft about State-owned house management, conducted by the Construction Department, Sai Gon Giai Phong (Liberated Sai Gon) reports.

The draft will be approved soon as sale of State-owned house programme ended last year.

According to the draft, all remaining State-owned houses will be legalised.

People who contributed to the revolutionary cause, state employees and soldiers will be renting such houses in case they and their wives don't have any housing support from the Government.

The draft also says that people will be allowed to stay if they have rented such houses for a long time but lost legal rights, and if they work for companies managing such houses that were equitised or went bankrupt.

Others include those who bought these houses, but didn't have legal papers or were illegally occupied.

In the draft, all damages will be compensated, and will be brought eventually to court.

Housing withdrawal will be considered in case of illegal occupation after the draft comes into effect, or when users don't follow regulations, cause damages or re-rent the house.

At present, the Justice Department is revising the draft before submitting to the municipal People's Committee.
