Ha Giang glows with pink buckwheat blossoms

Buckwheat (scientifically known as Fagopyrum Esculentum) is a plant with clusters of small pinkish white flowers and edible triangular seeds.

When harvest season has just finished, the northwest mountainous region is covered with pink as the buckwheat flowers blossom. Visitors to Ha Giang from the end of October to the middle of November are enthralled by the pure beauty of the scenery. The nearly 300km journey from Hanoi to Ha Giang seems to be shortened at this time of year thanks to the magnificent wonders of nature.

In Lung Cam field covered in ravishing pinkish buckwheat flowers, visitors are eager to immerse themselves in the flower fields and get the most beautiful shots with the scenery.

The Ha Giang Buckwheat Flower Festival 2015 is scheduled to take place from November 13 to 15 with various special cultural activities, including an opening ceremony, a space displaying buckwheat flowers and products made of buckwheat seeds, a night gala of buckwheat wine, a contest and an exhibition of buckwheat flower photos, and a seminar on improving the flower’s values and tourism development in Ha Giang Province. This is the first time Ha Giang is organising the festival in Dong Van District’s ancient central area.

Heaven of white calona in Moc Chau

The Moc Chau Highland in Son La Province is decorated with bright white canola at the end of autumn and the beginning of winter. Along Highway 6 from Hanoi to Moc Chau, green plants offer peaceful natural beauty and refresh the soul. The white flowers are easily found across Moc Chau Town, and Ang and Ba Phach villages.

A scattering of peaceful houses interspersed among flower carpets and floating white clouds gives visitors a beautiful backdrop for photos and is especially popular for wedding shots. Walking along paths between flower beds, the daily hustle and bustle seems to be washed away, leaving pure relaxation.

Exquisite highlands with wild sunflowers

The pure and rustic beauty of wild sunflowers is a beautiful sight to behold in the Highlands. The flowers grow in dust close together, creating a bright yellow strip across hillsides and prairies.

From November, the Highlands sport a charming new shirt of woven orange and yellow from the wild sunflowers.

Endless yellow strips in golden sunlight leave visitors speechless and wistful. Hills covered with bright yellow under a clear blue sky, and small wooden houses behind the trees embellish the mountainous town’s vast landscape. When wild sunflowers blossom in Da Lat or Ban Me Thuot, flocks of visitors rush to the Highlands to enjoy the beauty of the wild flowers and the region.

Tours to the northwest and highlands regions have become popular recently as the fresh autum sights are well worth the trip.

To bring tourists, particularly young people, tour operators including Vietravel, HanoiRedtours and Vietrantour have launched various tours departing from Hanoi.
