Ahead of the highly anticipated release of Avatar: Fire and Ash (Avatar 3) later this year, audiences now have the chance to re-experience Avatar: The Way of Water on the big screen. This return is more than a re-release – it offers a completely upgraded cinematic journey thanks to the most advanced projection and imaging technology currently available.

When it debuted in 2022, Vietnamese audiences viewed Avatar: The Way of Water in traditional IMAX and 3D formats at 24 frames per second (fps). For its re-release, many Vietnamese theaters have been upgraded to support High Frame Rate (HFR) technology at 48fps, doubling the frame rate. This results in ultra-smooth motion, razor-sharp visuals, and zero lag, bringing every detail of Pandora’s oceans to life with breathtaking realism. Character movements and environmental textures are more lifelike than ever.

The film will only be shown in theaters for one week.

For viewers watching the film in IMAX Laser format, the experience is even more immersive. Laser projectors with 4K resolution, 60% higher brightness, deeper contrast, and a wider color gamut will allow viewers to notice even the smallest details.

It feels as though you're diving deep into the sea, touching fantastical creatures and losing yourself in stunning vistas. A 12-channel upgraded surround sound system completes the experience, aligning perfectly with director James Cameron’s vision for the world of Pandora.

Even more exciting, this limited re-release includes exclusive sneak peeks from Avatar: Fire and Ash. According to Cameron, several surprise clips will be randomly attached to the end of the screening.

Though the number hasn’t been officially disclosed, there will be at least three separate “sneak reels,” each lasting around 3 to 4 minutes.

The original Avatar (2009) revolutionized 3D cinema and remains the highest-grossing film of all time.

When Avatar: The Way of Water was released in 2022, it further solidified the franchise's legacy, grossing over $2.3 billion globally and winning the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
